Here’s some information on Gemni

Story info:
-> Gemni was one of the first beings on Scarlet (far before Morbaine). He is the Spirit Guardian of Odrai’s family line, who are royalty. After Morbaine’s world-wide conquering, which dissolved the hold of the royal houses, many of those houses still operated in “secret”, though they hadn’t much power at all, and could not hope to make any direct stand against Morbaine. However, during Morbaine’s rule and after, while he was in Baine’s thrall (which quickened Scarlet’s descent into decay and madness), the royal houses tried to regain the power they had lost. They soon found, however, that many of the people left on Scarlet had either grown too animalistic or too violently insane to rule with any reasonable measures. The only reason that the royal lineage had faced less decay was their strength of blood and the magical protection of their ageless Spirit Guardians. So Gemni protects Odrai… until Aggie shows up and the shit does a ludicrous flip off the handle.

Powers:
-> Gemni is a magical being of thought. He is, therefore, a “mind mage”. His main power is a “body swap” ability. HE CAN ONLY ACTIVATE THIS ABILITY WHEN HE CAN SEE HIS TARGET. What he does is transfer his “mind” into somebody else’s head. He can use any of their physical abilities, due to the fact that they are based largely on muscle functions, which are easy to “read” from the brain he occupies. None of the physical layout of the brain he inhabits changes, his mind is just a magical overlay. Therefore, he can access information from the brain that he is in, such as memories (not super-deep ones, mainly recent events and information that’s highly important to the person) and knowledge of ability use. He has more trouble using the magical skills of another, as that is knowledge-based, and may be too complicated to figure out, or simply impossible to access as an intruder in another’s brain.
-> While he is in this other person’s head, their consciousness takes the path of least resistance, and follows the magical connection to Gemni’s brain. They are then in full control of his body. Unfortunately, they OFTEN cannot use his powers. THIS, HOWEVER, IS DEPENDANT UPON THE PERSON. The experience is highly jarring to most, and unnerving in the utmost. Most of Gemni’s powers are knowledge-based, if innate. Even if the person were able to figure out how to “read” a brain as Gemni does, they would MOST LIKELY only be able to use minor powers, like telekinesis. This, however, is not NECESSARILY the case. If someone with enough knowledge of thoughts, brains, and/or mind magic inhabits Gemni’s body, they may be able to use his higher powers. It would take someone of EXTREME SKILL AND RESOURCEFULNESS to use the body swap ability.
-> WHILE HIS MIND IS IN ANOTHER BODY, GEMNI MUST SEE HIS ORIGINAL BODY TO RETURN TO IT. This is the only of his powers that he can use while in another.
-> Gemni also has other abilities related to the mind. He has telekinesis (not extremely powerful… about enough to lift a small car) and telepathy. He can also read minds and use his telekinesis to give himself flight. He can also create illusions. These only appear in the minds of those he chooses it to, and have no physical manifestation.
Gemni has very little in the way of physical defense. He is fast and has high strength in his left arm, but is not good at fighting.
-> His left arm is made of organic metal, allowing it high freedom of movement. Additionally, the fingers of said arm are hollow and open at the ends, looking like flexible gun barrels. That’s because, essentially, they are. The fingers act as a blunderbuss ( [link] ), where Gemni loads random crap into them and blasts it out. As the metal is organic, these fingers have a full range of movement, and will not be damaged when used for this purpose.

Extra info (facts):
- Gemni was originally an Earth rabbit (and several people’s minds). As such, he has many similarities to them, such as weak bones, weather sensitivities, stress-induced problems, sensitivity to noise, etc. He has learned to manage these, and often tries to remain calm so as not to be affected by stress. This is also why he wears little clothing (to avoid becoming overheated).
- Gemni’s fur is extremely soft. Odrai loves cuddling up to him.
- Gemni’s eyes glow red while his “body swap” power is active
- Gemni’s fingers (right hand) are thicker and less flexible than human fingers.
- Gemni is a fusion of an Earth rabbit and several people. This is why he has a bunch of jumbled-up physical and mental traits of bunnies and humans.
- His name is pronounced “geh-mmm-nee”
- Gemni can survive by eating the thoughts of people (this includes the monsters of Scarlet, which are its people). However, he can only fully consume unstable minds (crazies). With sane people, he can only eat “wisp thoughts”. These are unimportant, small thoughts that are unimportant and not being paid attention to. Like when you go into a room and forget why you went in there.
- Gemni’s head resembles a rabbit’s more than a human’s. He can show a few expressions, but they are hard to read.
- Gemni lacks human vocal cords, so he can only speak via telepathy. He has learned to project his thoughts in a specific range, and does this without thinking about it. This ends up “sounding” like he is talking, even varying volume for people’s distances. He can focus his “words” on one person, so only they can hear him, but sometimes he accidentally projects in a range, being so used to it.
- Like everyone on Scarlet, he’s a bit loopy. He has also spent a lot of time alone over the years (being ageless) and is AT LEAST hundreds of years old (probably more like thousands… maybe even beyond that? He’s existed as long as Scarlet has), so he’s kind of… off.
- He can project any sound or image into people’s minds. He will sometimes project snippets of songs or odd images.
- Due to his lack of an actual voice, Gemni can assume the voice of anyone, as long as he knows what it sounds like, and project it into someone’s head. It is difficult, though not impossible, to tell between his voice and a real one in a quiet environment (when there’s a lot of noise, his voice cuts over it in the person’s head, which makes it sound less like something with an actually vocal origin).
- Gemni is completely loyal to Odrai and her family line
- Gemni’s claws are not excessively sharp, but can still give you a good scratch
- Gemni, beyond thought, is an herbivore
- Gemni has a perfect memory
- Gemni adores Earth and its little oddities, having lived on Scarlet for so long, which ended up to be a pretty terrible place
- Gemni does not hate, or even dislike, Morbaine
- Gemni is fairly easygoing, even if that attitude is forced. He can come off as delusional, and doesn’t handle stress well is does something besides repress it
- Gemni loves running
- Gemni likes small, dark, confined spaces
- Gemni likes jokes, but is not very good at telling them (“The chicken crossed the road to get to the other side. Funny, right? Ha. Ha ha.”)
- Gemni has high stamina when running
- Gemni cannot do things that require hands to be very precise/narrow (typing, lock-picking, writing) without using telekinesis. He can use telekinesis to create small bursts of pressure to do things like typing.
- Gemni likes listening to people talk. Subjects don’t matter, he just likes the sound of voices (again, due to long periods of isolation, plus his inability to speak)
- When in the bodies of others, Gemni tends to talk aloud to himself a lot without realizing it, as he is used to only working with thoughts
- Gemni likes laying in the sun, and will often zone out or sleep in sunbeams
- When surprised or attacked, Gemni’s first instinct is to run
- Gemni is very social and likes interacting with people. He will often read their minds during conversation, though, so some are unwilling to speak with him.
- Gemni, due to mind-reading and perfect memory, knows a lot of random facts
- Gemni loves cooked food, as he rarely gets to eat it (especially in Scarlet’s later centuries)
- Gemni often comes off as rude to those not from Scarlet, as he sees nothing wrong with interrupting people, using their things, violating privacy, putting personal information on display, and stating negative observations about people. (“Did you draw that? You don’t need to answer, I already know you did. It’s really bad. Is that a head, or… a foot?”) Most people on Scarlet don’t care about those things, and they are not considered rude.
- Some people find Gemni to be an infuriating smarty-pants (“I don’t see why you’re mad at me. Well, not true. I know why you think you should be mad at me, but your reasoning is dumb. See, there you go again.”)
- Gemni speaks in a matter-of-fact way, with little to no eloquence
- Gemni will often ask questions about things that he already knows via mind reading
